Residents urged to Walk and Talk to flag up neighbourhood concerns
Residents urged to Walk and Talk to flag up neighbourhood concerns

Residents in Walsall can raise concerns about everything from litter to anti-social behaviour at an estate walkabout next week.

Staff from Accord Housing Association will visit six estates in Darlaston on Wednesday (22 February) to pick up on any issues that Accord, the local authority or other agencies need to resolve.

They will also be talking to residents about the different ways to develop and learn new skills by getting involved in the work of Accord and training and job opportunities on offer.

Residents can join staff on the walkabout, which will start at 10am at Cramp Hill before moving onto Bush Street, Church Street and St Lawrence Gardens.

Paula Southall, Resident Engagement Officer at Accord, said: “Walkabouts are a great way for residents to talk to us directly about any concerns they may have about their neighbourhoods and come up with ways for improving their area.

“This walkabout is the second of a number of estate visits that we will be holding this year so look out for us coming to your neighbourhood soon.”

The estate walkabout in Darlaston is part of a year-long campaign of ‘Walk and Talk’ events, where staff will visit a different area each month.

For more information about the walkabouts, or to take part in one, call Resident Engagement Officer Paula Southall on 0300 111 7000 extension 3989 or email paulas@accordgroup.org.uk

Accord Housing Association, which is part of the Accord Group, manages 5,600 homes across the West Midlands, with the majority of its stock in Walsall and Sandwell.
