Walk and Talk event to raise community concerns
Walk and Talk event to raise community concerns

Residents in Darlaston are being urged to flag up any concerns that they have about their neighbourhood at an estate walkabout next week.

Staff from Accord Housing Association will visit six estates in the area next Monday (23 January) to identify any issues that Accord, the local authority or other agencies need to resolve.

They will also be talking to residents about the different ways they can get involved in the work of Accord, from joining a resident action group to taking part in mystery shopping.

Residents are urged to join the walkabout, which will start at 10am at Castle and Regent Court before moving onto Richard Street, Batch Croft, The Green and Minster Court.

Paula Southall, Resident Engagement Officer at Accord, said: “This walkabout is a chance for residents to raise any concerns that they may have about their community, from anti-social behaviour to fly-tipping, and suggest ideas for how their area could be improved.

“The Darlaston walkabout will be just one of a number of estate visits we will be holding this year so look out for us coming to your neighbourhood soon.”

The estate walkabout in Darlaston is part of a year-long campaign of ‘Walk and Talk’ events, where staff will visit a different area each month.
